How does the Energy Smart Unit™  lower my electric bill?

The Energy Smart Unit™  optimizes the electrical power that comes into your home allowing your appliance motors and equipment motors to operate more efficiently.  This in turn helps lower your electric bill.

How does the Energy Smart Unit™  Unit Work?

Energy Smart Unit™  maximizes motor efficiency due to the constant supply of voltage from the utility company by limiting voltage fluxion.  Some examples of inductive motors are air conditioning units, refrigerators, freezers, washers, dryers, dishwashers, pool pumps, vacuum cleaners, furnace blower motors, fans etc. The technology applied by the Energy Smart Unit™ supplies a constant voltage for your inductive loads causing you to decrease your demand (kW or kVA) from the utility. As demand is decreased, you pull less electricity from the utility company. This is reflected by the better motor operation efficiency and lower volume consumption on your meter. This whole process is called power factor optimization.


What is Power Factor?

Power factor is the percentage of electricity that’s delivered to your house and used effectively, compared to what is wasted. For example, a 1.0 power factor means that all the electricity that’s being delivered to your home is being used effectively for its purpose. However, most homes in America today have a .77 power factor or less. This means that 77% of the electricity that is coming thru your meter at your home or business is being used effectively, the other 23% is being wasted by your inductive load. With a low power factor, the utility has to deliver more electricity to do the same work. However, the Energy Smart Unit™  increases that power factor in most cases to .97 or .98, thus increasing the effective use of your electricity and lowering your usage.
 

Does the Energy Smart Unit™   work in any home?

Yes it does, as long as you have a circuit breaker panel with breaker switches and not the old screw in type fuses, the unit will work on any single-phase electric application for homes. If you have a 3 phase house then your would need the commercial Energy Smart Unit™.  If you say "yes" to only two or more of the following then you could be saving a significant amount of money on your electric bill right now!

Can I use Energy Smart Unit™   at my place of business?

Yes, the Energy Smart Unit™  will work with any single phase up to 200 amp panel or 3 phase up to a 400 amp panel

The higher your historical kWh consumption, the faster you save. The higher your current price per kWh, the faster you save (we recommend you shop for a lower price per kWh to save even more). The larger percentage reduction you experience with the Energy Smart Unit™, the faster you save. Simply put, take your average monthly bill multiplied by percentage savings to see how many months it will take for your return on investment. Is the Energy Smart Unit™ easy to Install?

How long will the Energy Smart Unit™ last?

Where is the unit installed?

It is installed next to the electrical breaker box panel (preferably by a licensed electrician). One unit is usually all you need for the whole house unless your home has  additional panels.

Do I receive a money back guarantee when I invest in the Energy Smart Unit™ ?

If you do not see at least 5% savings on your electrical bill in that time, you can return it for a full refund of the purchase price.  However customer must prove based on 12 months of electric bills for the year before they installed the unit compared  to 12 months of electric bills while having the unit installed that they did not save at least 5% on their electric bills. In addition Energy Smart Unit Money Back Guarantee is valid under the following conditions are met for the first 12 billed months of use:

1 - No additional electrical appliances, gas powered appliances, electrical wiring, circuit panels, or lighting is installed in the home or business

2 - No additional occupants

3 - No extreme differences in climate or climate control versus previous year     

Why haven’t I heard of this product until now?

In the past, the Energy Smart Unit™  was not cost effective. Past electric rates throughout America were exceedingly cheap, costing between 2 and 5 cents per kWh. Now, people are regularly paying between 10 and 20 cents per kWh. In some places such as New York City rates have been over 22 cents per kWh. In Hawaii people have paid over 33 cents per kWh. What About  Energy Smart Unit™  for Surge Protection?

Insurance policies do not protect against “acts of God” such as power surges from the electric. Unlike the insurance companies, the Energy Smart Unit™  is helpful to regulate electrical spikes that would otherwise be a problem for your appliances, but it should not be confused with a whole house surge protector.
